Pick Your Own Date! SUMMER THROUGH FOLIAGE & OKTOBERFEST at Honora Vineyard, West Halifax, Vermont

We begin with a stop at the Apple Barn and Country Store in Bennington, Vt. Browse through wagons filled with Vermont cheese and maple syrup and delight in their bake shop with over 40 homemade treats. Enjoy coffee and an apple cider donut, then take a narrated bus ride to the top of a 300-acre apple orchard to view the most spectacular scenery of Southern Vermont.

Continue our “taste” to Honora Winery where they take pride in producing exceptional Vermont wines by growing cold-hardy grapes. You will enjoy the spectacular view of 3 different states from this beautiful vineyard! Tasting 4 different wines is enjoyed in a beautiful, 6,000-sq.-ft. event center. The French doors that surround the building allow beautiful views in every direction.

Lighthouse Cruise & Ct. Wine Trail Visit

Board the comfortable, high-speed Sea Jet in New London, Ct. A smooth-sailing, wave-piercing catamaran capable of cruising at speeds in excess of 30 knots (35 mph), the Sea Jet is equipped with modern, airline-style seating on two enclosed, air-conditioned passenger decks with spacious outdoor decks.

The 8-lighthouse tour is narrated by former Navy man and sailor Ted Webb, who grew up on Long Island Sound and knows all the history and stories of the 8 lighthouses you’ll see as you cross from New London to the shores of Long Island, N.Y.

A box lunch will be provided on board for you to enjoy before or during the cruise.

After the cruise, another treat! We will visit the Stonington Vineyards where you will be tasting six different wines! The Stonington winery is a premier wine experience!

8:00 AM: Depart for Bennington, Vt. to the Apple Barn & Country Bake Shop for shopping and coffee.

11:30 AM: Arrive at the The New England House, Brattleboro, Vt. for their famous Vermont Feast, Vermont turkey and ham with all the trimmings! All the ingredients, down to the butter are local, fresh and delicious.

2:00 PM: Nestled in the rolling foothills of southern Vermont lies a 650-acre horse farm where some of the most beautiful horses in the world are born and bred. Tour the beautiful European-style stables and meet these gentle giants up close and personal. Enjoy a fantastic, choreographed musical horse show from your seat in the indoor ring where these beauties show off their skills...and then marvel as a majestic Friesian romps, runs and plays at liberty!

4:30 PM: Visit Grafton Cheese Shop and Factory, Brattleboro, Vt.

The Grafton Cooperative Cheese Company was founded in 1892 by dairy farmers who gathered together in a cooperative to make their surplus raw milk into cheese. In the days before refrigeration, there were many such cooperatives in the rural agricultural communities and an abundance of fresh, creamy milk was turned into a food that could be stored for a longer period of time.

One-Night Two-Day Mystic Seaport and Essex Steam Train

Day 1

11:00 Mystic Seaport is the nation’s leading maritime museum. Founded in 1929, the museum is home to four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whale ship in the world. Mystic Seaport features a working preservation shipyard, a re-created 19th-century seafaring village, exhilarating exhibits and a planetarium.

Lunch on your own in the Seaport. While exploring the grounds of Mystic Seaport, the Galley Restaurant is perfect for a quick and casual bite. Especially popular with families, the Galley has informal tray service and a convenient location on the Village Green, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

3:00 Leave Mystic Seaport to check in to the Inn at Mystic. The Inn at Mystic, idyllically located on a secluded estate with breathtaking water views overlooking the Mystic Harbor and Fishers Island Sound. The only one of its kind in Mystic!

This property was the original Haley Mansion Estate...Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart honeymooned here in 1945.

11:00 Next it’s “All Aboard” the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat for a 12-mile, narrated round-trip in a vintage coach car pulled by a real “Puffer Belly”steam locomotive along the banks of the Connecticut River.

At Deep River Landing, you’ll board the Becky Thatcher Riverboat for anarrated cruise on the Connecticut River. From Becky’s multiple decks you’ll see the Goodspeed Opera House, Gilette Castle and the Haddam Swing Bridge.

1:30 Lunch at the Griswold Inn in beautiful Essex, Ct.

FRIESIANS OF MAJESTY OVERNIGHT

Day 1

8:00 AM: Depart for Bennington, Vt. to the Apple Barn & Country Bake Shop for shopping and coffee.

11:30 AM: Arrive at the The New England House, Brattleboro, Vt. for their famous Vermont Feast, Vermont turkey and ham with all the trimmings! All the ingredients, down to the butter are local, fresh and delicious.

2:00 PM: Nestled in the rolling foothills of southern Vermont lies a 650-acre horse farm where some of the most beautiful horses in the world are born and bred. Tour the beautiful European-style stables and meet these gentle giants up close and personal. Enjoy a fantastic, choreographed musical horse show from your seat in the indoor ring where these beauties show off their skills...and then marvel as a majestic Friesian romps, runs and plays at liberty!

4:00 PM: Depart for the D. Hotel in Holyoke, Mass. A boutique hotel owned and operated by the Log Cabin and Delaney House.

5:30 PM: Check In D. Hotel.

6:15 PM: Steps from your front door to the front door of the elegant Delaney House, where a delicious experience is awaiting you. The atmosphere and food are beyond compare and why shouldn’t they be! The Delaney House is owned and operated by the owners of the Log Cabin.

Then enjoy an after-dinner drink on the Delaney House terrace or enjoy the living room or pool at the D. Hotel. Or add on $10.00 for a fantastic “ All about the Fifties” show with “Big John" Hartman.

Day 2

7:00 to 9:00 AM: Complimentary hotel breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage are some of the choices!

9:00 AM: Visit Atkins Farm for apples, cider, pumpkins and home baked pies

11:30 AM: Arrival Log Cabin Banquet and Meeting House

12:00 PM: Log Cabin’s famous LOBSTERFEAST!

2:00 PM: It’s SHOWTIME AT THE LOG CABIN!
